Add a text watermark to every page of your PDF.
How to use Add Watermark
Upgrade to Pro
Watermark is a Pro feature. Visit /pricing to upgrade.
Open the Watermark tool
Go to Tools and click Add Watermark.
Upload your PDF
Drop your PDF onto the upload area.
Customise the watermark
Options panel gives you full control: • Text: what the watermark says (e.g. CONFIDENTIAL, DRAFT, your company name). • Font size: 8-72 pt slider. • Opacity: 10-100% slider. Lower values make the watermark more transparent. • Colour: pick any colour with the colour picker. • Orientation: Diagonal (default), Horizontal or Vertical. • Page range: leave blank for all pages, or enter a range like 1-3,5 to watermark specific pages only.
Apply and download
Click Add Watermark and download the watermarked PDF.
Tips for best results
An opacity of 20-30% gives a professional, unobtrusive watermark that is still clearly visible.
Diagonal orientation is hardest to crop or remove.
For confidential documents, use CONFIDENTIAL in red at 40% opacity. Clearly visible but not distracting.
Use page range to watermark only the pages that contain sensitive content.
Common questions
Can I change the watermark colour?
Yes. Use the colour picker in the options panel to choose any colour.
Can I set the watermark to appear on only some pages?
Yes. Enter a page range like 1-3,5 in the Page range field. Leave it blank to watermark all pages.
Can I add an image watermark (like a logo)?
Image watermarks are not currently supported. The tool adds text watermarks with full styling control.
Can the watermark be removed?
A determined user with PDF editing software can attempt removal, but higher opacity and diagonal orientation make it much harder. For maximum security, print and rescan the document.
