Tips for best results
Leave the password field empty if you are not sure. The tool will tell you if a password is required.
If you see "This PDF is not password-protected", your file never had a password and no action was taken.
The correct password must be the one used when the PDF was protected. If you have forgotten it, recovery is not possible.
Common questions
I entered the correct password but still got an error.
Check for leading or trailing spaces in the password field. Passwords are case-sensitive.
The tool says "not password-protected" but I cannot edit the file.
Some PDFs have a permissions lock (restricting editing) but no user password. The tool removes this automatically. Try opening the downloaded file in Word or editing it in Adobe Reader.
