Type your text, choose font size (8–72 pt) and text colour. • Highlight: drag to draw a yellow semi-transparent highlight rectangle over text or areas. • Rectangle: drag to draw a coloured border box (useful for calling attention to content). • Whitebox: drag to draw a solid white rectangle that covers and hides underlying content (redaction).

Apply and download
Click Apply Annotations to flatten all annotations permanently into the PDF, then download.
Tips for best results
Use Whitebox to redact sensitive information. It covers content with a white rectangle.
Text annotations use a default font size of 14 pt. Adjust the size slider before clicking to place text.
You can add multiple annotations of different types on the same page.
The page preview is a rendered image. Click precisely where you want the annotation to appear.
Annotations are applied at the exact coordinates you see in the preview, scaled correctly to the real PDF dimensions.
Common questions
Can I move or delete an annotation after placing it?
Not yet. If you make a mistake, use the Clear All button to remove all annotations on the current page and start again.
Does the whitebox permanently hide the content?
Yes. After applying, the content under the whitebox is permanently covered in the output PDF. However, the original underlying content is not cryptographically erased. A PDF with the original text layer may still be extractable by specialist tools. For legal redaction, consult a professional.
Can I edit existing text in the PDF?
No. The Edit tool adds new annotations on top of the existing content. To change existing text, you need a full PDF editor like Adobe Acrobat.
Why does the page preview take a moment to load?
The preview is a high-quality rendered image of your PDF page. This ensures the annotation coordinates are accurate to your specific document.
