Tips for best results
Quality 75 reduces most image-heavy PDFs by 50-80% with no visible quality loss at normal reading size.
For text-only PDFs with no images, compression will have a smaller effect since there are no images to recompress.
If the result is still too large, try compressing again at a lower quality setting.
Common questions
How much will my file shrink?
It depends on the content. Image-heavy PDFs can shrink by 60-80%. Text-only PDFs may only shrink by 10-30%.
Will the text still be readable?
Yes. Compression only affects images, not text. Text remains perfectly sharp regardless of the quality setting.
Can I compress a file that is already compressed?
Yes but the reduction will be smaller since the images are already compressed. You may see diminishing returns.
